Earn more money with good grass

There is a lot of money available for the farmer if he is able to produce grass silage with a high digestibility – up to € 0.40 per cow per day.

Grass or clovergrass for silage is a valuable crop and especially in the first cut, it is crucial to havest grass with a quality that fits into the feeding plan.

The value of high digestibility of Organic Matter or NDF (DNDF) is large – up to €0.4 per cow per day, or €120 in a 300 days lactation period. The result depends on timing for the first cut, fertilizer strategy, proportion of clover and – of course – the grass mixture and varieties selected.
